The unique element about the sport of flying disc (frisbee) is that there are multiple disciplines played with a disc (frisbee) and each one has competitions all the way up to the World Championships. The sport of flying disc is governed by the World Flying Disc Federation (WFDF) and was granted recognition by the International Olympic Committee on August 2, 2015.
In order to be considered a Discipline and not a Frisbee Game, it must be recognized by the World Flying Disc Federation. However, I make an exception for Canine Disc because it’s global, has thousands of competitors, has been around for 40+ years and has World Championships in each of the organizations.
