Frisbee Rounders is a fast-moving throwing and running game that combines the familiar layout of rounders with the creativity and flight of a flying disc. Players scatter multiple discs before sprinting the bases while the fielding team races to return every disc to the centre.
Equipment
Rounders posts or cones, flying discs
Setup
- Mark out a standard rounders pitch using cones or rounders posts.
- Divide players into two teams: one throwing team and one fielding team.
How to Play
- Each player on the throwing team starts with two or three frisbees.
- The thrower begins by throwing all of their discs anywhere they choose, as long as the throws are in bounds.
- The fielding team must remain completely still until the final disc has been thrown.
Running
- After the last disc is thrown, the thrower immediately starts running around the bases, aiming to complete as many as possible and score a full rounder.
- At the same time, the fielding team works together to retrieve all discs and return them to the middle circle.
Outs
A thrower is out if:
- The fielding team returns all discs to the middle circle and the thrower is not at a base or home and continues running.
- One of the thrower’s discs is caught on the full by a fielder without the fielder moving to catch it.
Objective
The throwing team scores by completing full rounders, while the fielding team works quickly and cooperatively to recover all discs and stop runners. Frisbee Rounders encourages strategic throwing, sprinting, teamwork, and fast decision-making in a familiar rounders-style game format.
